    Youming Zhao (pronounced “You-Me” that is why the website is “You-me.ca” ), P. Ag., M.Sc.(Agr.), sales representative was born, raised and studied agriculture in China, and he later obtained his M.Sc.(Agr.) from the National University of Ireland (UCD). Youming also attended a five-month meat processing training program in Finland.

     Youming has over 30 years of experience within the Chinese and Canadian agricultural and agri-food industries. He first worked as an agricultural specialist in China. After immigrating to Canada in 2000, Youming worked in the flower and horticulture sectors in Ontario for several years. He joined the Ontario Institute of Agrologists (OIA) in 2002 and has gained extensive knowledge of Canadian agriculture and agri-food through wide contact with other senior agrologists and through OIA professional training programs.

      Since 2007, Youming has been working hard to operate the Chinese-Canadian Farm Start Program. Annually, Youming and his team organize Farm Start seminars and online training programs to help new farmers adapt to Canadian agricultural techniques. These seminars have become very popular in Canada.  Many new immigrants have started their farm businesses, including vineyards, cash crop and fruit farms, wineries, greenhouses and livestock farms in Ontario and other areas of Canada after graduating from this program.

     In July, 2013 Youming earned his realtor license. This license has further assisted him in promoting his Farm Start program and also allows him to become deeply involved in the marketing of Canadian farms. 

      Youming is a strong advocate of Canada-China cooperation in the agricultural and agri-food industries.  He has been the President of Canada-China Agriculture and Food Development Exchange Centre (CCAGR) since 2008. In 2016 he received the Canadian House of Commons  Canada-China Trade Promotion Award.

      Youming has been living in Hamilton, Ontario with his family since 2005.
